Rory Gilmore, I’m sick of your shit.
When you slept with Dean, that was bad. But you had had a confusing year, as the first year of college often is. For the first time in your life, boys were not lining up around the block to carry your books. Teachers seemed to expect original thought. I can see how that might bruise a girl’s fragile ego, which would cause her to seek validation in the arms of a dude who is so sweet and so harmless he could never in a million years possibly do anything callous or mean. Except cheat on his wife, of course.
But then Logan. Listen, I’m trying not to judge. Really. I myself went to a fancy pants school, and on the first day there, after meeting my roomates (three other white chicks from the suburbs — thanks for the diversity, freshman dean’s office) and some other nice kids, I met this guy who would eventually become a very good friend and then six years later star in a WB reality TV show (btw: Dutch Aristocracy, my ass). I thought to myself, Shit. There are going to be guys like this All Over the Place! But… a) No there aren’t, and b) the ones that are, are actually real people, and nothing like Logan’s caricature of “Being a Rich Guy.” Not that I’m defending rich assholes. I just think that even rich assholes have more depth and nuance than Logan Huntzberger.
Also, I’m a Jess fan. (Though Jess is also a caricature — “Poor Hipster Tortured Artist” — I forgive him because he seems to have layers.) What’s wrong with you, Rory? Going to Philly to toy with him? Telling him you love Logan? Give the guy a break already! Like you haven’t made him suffer enough for treating you badly. He seems like he’s cleaned up his act, so let the man live his life. Or run off with him. Damn. Do something.
Just do NOT stay with Logan Huntzberger and act like a boring married couple and get used to the luxury so that you’ll never be able to have a normal relationship ever again. It’s crazy and stupid. Little Rory in her private school uniform and with her high ideals would laugh in your pathetic boring face.
She’d also be completely ashamed that you are so weak and hopeless that you actually stole a boat and quit school because Logan’s dad said some mean things to you. As is every viewer of this show. Don’t think I’ve forgiven you for that, Ms. Gilmore.
As Stephen Colbert would say, grow some balls. Get your shit together, and stop annoying me already.
totally true, but Jess is now trying to save the world with his super powers… I can´t imagine him dragging Rory around. And Dean left his wife to chase ghosts with his brother????

i agree, Dean is the one for Rory and he should come back, his relationship with Rory ended in a very confusing way….i mean since that day (the day he saw her with the rich guys) they didn’t talk again…. Rory didn’t explain to him what really happened or even talk to him and break up ….. so now… what are they? nothing, not even friends, it was so random. And… what happened to dean? i hardly doubt they haven’t seen each other considering that they live in the same town, don’t you think it’s weird? At least they should have give us a conclusion about the Dean and Rory situation.

I just saw some of the old episodes I never really saw and I found Rory especially annoying when she tells Dean (after he’s married) not to drop out of school. I happen to know that she would later “drop out” of Yale herself - making her a hypocrite of some sort. But more importantly, who is she to tell him not to listen to Lindsay?
I think the change in Rory Gilmore also has a lot to do with Alexis Bledel herself. She (the actress) tried so hard to look more mature than her character that she started wearing clothes and hairstyle that Rory (IMO) never would. The writers are also to blame, of course.
c´mon, rory is a girl, and has doubts like everybody. I admire her in many aspects, but i do miss the younger rory.I think that it happens all the time, when we grow up, we tend to make many mistakes, and to harm some people. But in the end we are all trying to find our way trough, and both good and bad things we´ve done in the past, will help us in the future.
anyway I am a kind of romantic, and I do hope rory come back with jess, he is absolutely cute, and has a different way of seeing things. He is everything rory needs to be the real rory, the ones who use to laugh all the time, who was so self-confident,and who used to know exactly what she wanted

k so i think the 3rd season Rory was best because she actually had a backbone and her valedictorian speech was amazing. BUT i am inclined to agree with owen daly because it is JUST a show. i also think her new dress style rocks and i love her hair

this is screwed up. i mean of course some of this has some validation. but really. as we grow up-duh- she is going to start dressing different and start caringa bout boys. also she was attracted to logan because she wanted something different and fun. she had gone through all taht crap with dean and she wanted something less stressful.
also you mention that the old rory woudl never steal a boat or drop out of school becaus eof mitchem. but actually the “old” rory was even more annoying taht the new one. the old rory was self-rightous. the old rory was an annoying twit that coudlnt make up her mind about anything. the old rory had a mental break down because she got a D on a paper. so actually she really hasnt changed that much.
also it is perfectly reasonable that as she matured and grew up she made mistakes. also she lived a very sheltered life in stars hallow-it only makes sense that shen she went to yale being in such a crazy, free environment would change her.
rory has stayed true to herself completely and only grown as a character throughout teh seasons.
also it cracks me up how soemone wrote “she is hypocritical” becasue she told dean not to drop out before everything happened with teh boat. everyone mights ay one thing one year but then a couple years later after things have changed have a different opinion
