Survivor ended on Sunday. Perhaps I'll write something about it at a later time, but right now laziness trumps productivity. For now, I'll just say that Aras' victory was decidedly "meh" and I'm just pleased that Terry didn't win.
However, I do think it's interesting that original Survivor winner Richard Hatch is going to be spending 51 months in the hoosegow for not paying taxes on his million bucks. His sentence was worse than anyone expected because he pissed the judge off by repeatedly committing perjury during the trial.

He says he forgot to tell his accountants about some of his income. And that he didn’t know he was supposed to pay taxes on the $1 million. He has accountants, plural, and not one of them knew that everybody has to pay taxes on game show winnings? That sounded fishy to me. Luckily The Smoking Gun has the whole story.
He hired an accounting firm to do his taxes for him and they said he owed a whole ton of taxes. “Great,” he said “I’ll file this and send in that huge check. So then he gives his tax info to another accountant, leaving out a few choice pieces of income but still including the $1 million the whole country knew he won. Still he owes a big chuc of change. “Wow” he said, that’s a lot. It sure sucks that I made all that money. Heh heh. Just, say… out of curiosity, how much would I owe if I hadn’t won all that money? A refund you say? Could you write those numbers on this form for me? No, it doesn’t say 1040 at the top, you’re seeing things.”
He asked his accountant to fill out an “informational” tax form just for shits and giggles. The accountant even made him sign a form that said this was not his real tax return. AND HE FILED IT!!!
Wow. Richard Hatch. What a guy.
