The most disgusting show I can’t wait to see

Michael C. Hall in Dexter: Gratuitous? Absolutely.

Seems like Showtime might be hot on HBO's heels in making out-there one hour dramas that would never make it on a normal network.  First they had The L Word, then they had Weeds.  Now, it's Dexter.

The main reason the show piqued my interest is because it stars Michael C. Hall, aka David from Six Feet Under.  I'm sure he could make any show interesting.  Hell, put him on Two and a Half Men and watch the intelligence quotient skyrocket.

But the actual premise of the story is what sold me.  Get this: Dexter is a forensics expert for the Miami PD, but in his spare time he becomes the dark angel of vigilante rage, killing people who deserve it.  By day he's mild mannered and well liked.  By night, blood drips from the ceiling.

This show resonates to some sort of sick, sick sensibility I have for all things stylishly gruesome.  I guess it's rooted in my past as an angsty, chubby, X-Files-watching preteen.

Now, all I have to do is figure out how I'm going to watch this show without subscribing to Showtime.
