My thoughts on the highly anticipated (by me) (highly meticipated, maybe?) Heroes premiere will have to wait

In Studio 60
Because I haven't watched it yet.
I did watch the second episode of Studio 60, though, and the pure Aaron Sorkiness (that's pronounced Sorky-ness, I've decided) of the whole thing practically made my brain melt. This is not to say I didn't like it, I just nearly sprained a muscle from rolling my eyes.
I hope they have some self-awareness about the fact that they're treating the executive producer's office like the freaking Oval office, because they should know that it makes them seem like self-important windbags instead of charming and lovable rogues, which is what I desperately want them to be.
Things I liked: the anthropomorphized clock, Nate Corddry, and everything about the writer's room.
Also, as predicted, the first-ever Matt-penned sketch for the show-within-a-show was not all that funny. Watch the whole episode to see for yourself.
Up tonight: the highly meticipated premiere of Gilmore Girls!

This picture is ridiculous. Also, wonderful.
I liked episode 2 of Stu60 more than the first, but Amanda Peet is still so damn disappointing. Sorkin, you copy yourself on everything else, why couldn’t you have made her the third permutation of the Dana Whitaker/CJ Cregg mold? She doesn’t come across as nearly as competent or interesting as she should.
Good things: Sarah Paulson with Matthew Perry, Whitford alone, the brainstorming scene.
Bad things: Whitford’s forced chemistry with Peet, the social significance they seem to give a sketch show, the Internet-scolding
Me, I kind of love the Sorkin shoutouts, even though they should probably taper off soon. But I dug the clock that, like women, doesn’t have “special powers.” (I imagine that the clock isn’t harboring a secret plan to fight inflation, either.) And thanks, Sorkin, for giving us another chance to yell “They’re all about duty!”
I’m meticipating Gilmore Girls, too!
Also, watch Heroes so we can discuss Jess’s turn for the weird.
I liked Heroes. A little silly, but Pasdar! I’m in for a few weeks at least. And a loopy “Heroes” Jess Mariano is at least less annoying than a broody “GGirls” Jess Mariano.
Also, Time Out New York has taken it upon themselves to let us know exactly what we’re missing with our TV addictions. Thanks, TONY: http://www.timeout.com/newyork/Details.do?xyurl=xyl://TONYWebArticles2/574/features/tune_in_get_out.xml
While overall I enjoyed Studio 60 (and hope it improves as much as West Wing did during its first seasons),if I were writing this show you would never see more than a second or two of any actual portion of the show within a show itself. Studio 60 should be about the behind the scenes aspects of putting on a show and not depend upon whether we think the skits/musical numbers presented are actually funny.
