This can't possibly count as a spoiler because it was on last week's "Next Week On…", but warnings anyway. Martha Logan, the fantastic Jean Smart, is back on 24 this week… and she's shacked up with former Secret Service hero Aaron Pierce! Many whoohoos! Today's also Ricky Schroeder's first week. I think there's something fundamentally unsympathetic about Ricky Schroeder, but maybe they'll put that "ick" quality to good use.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming: It's another FX show you might watch for a day and then forget it exists — The Riches. Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard star as gypsy con artists. Fine. I will say, though, that con artists are the new doctors when it comes to overused television careers. I understand that there's inherent drama in lying for a living, just like there is with saving people's lives on the operating table, but it's starting to be a crutch and even leaning towards a cliche.

Insomnia plus daylight savings time equals Dan barely functioning. 

• Rob and Amber got eliminated from The Amazing Race last night, which is exciting.
• William Fichtner (from 24 — and every show ever that you can't remember) talks to TV Guide. 
• Madonna, Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are all going to guest star on Nip/Tuck.  It is still wildly unlikely that I will ever see an episode. 
• NBC will be cluttering the pop culture lexicon even further by adding "newpeats."  That is, reruns of The Office will have  additional footage so you have to watch them. 
• I'm highly perturbed by this new trend of "The Daily Show for ___ audience."  Now it's David Alan Grier with, I swear to God, The Chocolate News.  Three guesses for that demographic.
• NBC is trying to compete with iTunes. 
• The cast of Dexter sheds some light on next season. 
• Read the Rolling Stone cover story on South Park. 
• Okay, so you may have used an mp3 blog aggregator before.  Like the Hype Machine where you type in a band and they give you blog posts featuring mp3s by that artist.  Well, there's now a TV blog aggregator called metatu.be.
