Early thoughts on the Addison spin-off: Yay or nay?
I’m cautiously “pro,” as long as they don’t revisit the “I’m gonna kiss you with tongue” line.
ETA: The Times plays the blame game, and it lands squarely on Calista Flockheart. No arguments.
Give me an hour.
If I walked shirtless through my office with my surf board, I would not get the warm reception that Piz enjoyed when he completed a similar act. (Actually… whatever, let’s not think about that). Is LA really so different from the rest of the world? (A: Yes).
I’m cautiously “Yay” as well, not least because all the random people from every TV show ABC has canceled in the last three years make me happy. Mostly because Addison was pretty much the only person in Seattle who wasn’t a jackass, and I’m glad to see her get away from all that bullshit.
I wonder what they’ll do with Sloan over on Grey’s 1.0. Does he have a purpose anymore? I mean, other than taking his clothes off and making my day?
Sara, I also wondered about Sloan.
Frankly, my husband and I agreed that we might like the spin-off BETTER. It didn’t take long for me to favor Addison over (yawn) Meredith, so as long as they remain true to her character, I’ll be happy. Plus? Francie from ‘Alias,’ a brutally hot Tim Daly, the always-welcome Taye Diggs, my favorite dude from ‘Prison Break,’ and Piz.
But one question - wasn’t this supposed to be set in SanFran, not Hell-A?
I’ve watched about 1.5 episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, and I think my first impression of it was, “Wow, it’s just like Ally McBeal, but in a hospital. And just like Ally McBeal, I love the supporting cast and full-on DESPISE the lead for being a whiny, obnoxious bimbo.”
Yes, but the beauty of Grey’s Anatomy is that the rest of the cast are also whiny and obnoxious!
I’m not sure if I’m nay-spinoff or just nay-last-week’s-episode. I kind of feel like I wasted two hours of my life on it, with it’s extreme amounts of whining and crying and random storylines. But it was kind of worth it to see Meredith’s dad slap her.
I’ll give it another shot but I didn’t really like the 2-hour episode. Maybe it was just because it didnt work in that format. Going back and forth from Grey’s to that.
