Really, Esquire? Really, Giada?

Lord knows I love Giada De Laurentiis. Between her show’s artfully wobbly camera work, her delicious creations, her smiley demeanor and the wardrobe department’s low-cut tops, there’s a lot to be happy with on Everyday Italian.
So I was reading the most recent issue of Esquire recently and I saw this weird-ass photo shoot of her with a white dress and ton of tomatoes. You can see the other photos from the shoot here, including one where it looks like her face has been airbrushed to twice its original width.

Straight men — do you guys actually find this hot? Is this just another thing we’ll never agree on — like professional sports, war movies and pleated pants?
Nope, that’s a pretty gross shot. Get rid of the tomatoes, and swap Giada out for Nigella Lawson… now we’re talkin’.
It looks like the end of Carrie. That’s not sexy.
I was pretty squicked out when I saw this in my Esquire. It’s not close to the time they photographed Monica Bellucci wearing caviar, let’s say that.
Yeah, not so much. That’s kind of repellent, actually. Why Esquire would go to so much trouble to make a sexy gal look gross is beyond me. Maybe they’re trying to appeal to the sploshing demographic.
My taste runs more to the Hepburns.
You read Esquire?
I know I’m not the target demographic here, but this gets more disgusting the more I look at it. It looks like she could be squishing a human heart in her right hand! Plus, that airbrushed photo you mentioned manages to age her at least 10 years.
i used to think she was hot….but er… she’s a huge turn off now.
I find her hot, and i Love tomatoes, and I would eat tomatoes off of her…. The pics are a bit disturbing (probably since the photog editor wanted it to look “atry”) but the first question is “straight guys, do you find this sexy? Since it’s in Esquire the question should be “ALLEGEDLY straight guys, do you find this sexy?”
