In Heroes House How I Met Your Mother Jon Stewart Reaper
Things I Liked:
- Jon, on the latest Democratic presidential debate: “It’s like the world’s most boring Neil LaBute play.”
- In the boring moments of Reaper, Sam’s cute little freckly nose.
- Evil Horse Lady insulting Kristin Chenowith’s cleavage on Pushing Daisies.
- Free taco day. I didn’t eat one, but it still makes me laugh.
Things I Disliked:
- Lily’s out-of-control financial irresponsibility on HIMYM (because girls love to shop, didn’t you know?), and that she’s lying to Marshall about it and has been for years, and that they made me hate Lily.
- No Kristen Bell on Heroes.
- The extreme grossness of the man with sludge blood on House.
- See number 1. I understand why they did it for the story — it would’ve been terrible for her to make Marshall take the soulless job just to save her ass — but she’s lying to him. And she’s lying for such a stupid reason! I don’t like this. I don’t like this at all.
I’d like to list my likes and dislikes too, but I’m so far behind in my TiFauxing that I think my responses are very dated:
Likes:
Andi on Reaper: She’s a smart cutie. (OK she’s tall and thin and if you’re paying attention, you’ll notice my prejudice here. So predictable: Yes I also like the mean Niki on Heroes and the incredibly mean Number 6 on Battlestar Gallactica)
I liked the fact that Bailey saw that George has pretty much been a pawn of the girls on Grey’s Anatomy. I don’t blame him anymore than I blame Izzie for her waffling. And Callie really manipulated him into marriage; she’s hardly a pitiful victim.
I like the Irish Girl that Milo is sparking on Heroes.
I loved Steve Carell on Charlie Rose. He’s such a mensch!
Dislikes
MeridithGreyMeridithGreyMeridithGreyMeridithGrey. What a downer!
Bill Maher is really getting on my nerves. I think he’s kind of a dope, although I almost always love his commentary at the end.
Cylons (except number 6). (Did ya ever notice that at the opening the Cylon they show under ‘The Cylons were invented by Man’ is like, smiling, and then the one under ‘They Rebelled’ is mean looking.)
I’m so enjoying Sam on Reaper. He’s effing adorable.
Maggie, did your dad just use the word “sparking”? I thought only the lyricist of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers said that.
My TV watching has been severely handicapped by not having our TV hooked up in the new place yet, but here’s mine:
Things I Liked:
1. John Cho on HIMYM. I finally saw Harold and Kumar and have seen the light of that man’s fineness.
2. Evil, lying Lana on Smallville. Please, Powers That Be, just let her be bad. Don’t redeem her. Don’t make her a martyr. Just let her be evil. It’s the only way to stomach her.
3. Peter finally leaving Ireland and participating in his story arc.
Things I Disliked:
1. The Office, sadly. I hate it when they make Michael into a functionally retarded caricature. Also, I would have preferred a simple apology from Jim to Karen instead of the ambush humiliation the writers gave him as come-uppance — although the mustaches were awesome!
2. I agree with Maggie: Lilly’s shopaholic secret. It’s an immensely unlikable character trait, and Lilly is already a fairly weak character. Which is a shame because I loved (pre-S6) Willow.
3. Moral relativism and hypocrisy on Smallville. Consider this a standing complaint.
I like Tila Tequila’s Shot at love and nothing else
The John Cho bonanza on TV is making me so happy. He’s on Ugly Betty! He’s on How I Met Your Mother! He’s fantastic!
Tila Tequila!!!
