The Office has set the bar very high. I can't see the spin-off measuring up. I hope that I am wrong

I think the best thing they could possibly do is base the office spin-off on a company that is a foil for the company/characters we have come to know and love. I'm thinking something like an internet start-up whose business plan is to digitize EVERYTHING. Like no more paper. And for this to work, you are right, there can't be ANY spillover in characters. Who knows maybe they even have a really smart and ingenuitive boss....

Think of the meta jokes that could bounce back and forth between the shows. It could be good, but I'm not crossing my fingers. As indicated by your choice of photo, the most obvious spin off is to let Rashida be the new Michael Scott in her branch. As much as I love her, I would puke.

Hire some idealistic, Ivy League kids and give them just enough money for food, shelter and weed and you’ve got a critical success.

DANIEL. As a fellow graduate of a public Ivy, I expect better of you. People from State are funny people, too.
