Not the "gay man has a straight woman friend" thing, but why the hell any of those four characters had anything to do with any of the others. Even in the universe of sitcom contrivance (and lord knows, I love the wacky sitcoms), it never made sense to me. And of course, the thought that this was being broadcast to America as the norm of gay existence didn't help.
