ER alum Eriq La Salle is complaining that the only thing anyone ever wants to ask him about is his tenure as Dr. Benton on a bazillion years of the long-running show.

And he complained at a press conference where he was promoting his new Hallmark movie.  Ugh.

But he kept being asked about his biggest role, as Dr. Peter Benton on the long-running hospital drama “ER.”

Which started to get a little annoying to him.

“OK, I mean look, it was a defining moment, you know, for a lot of us as artists,” La Salle said at last. “You know, it was a show that was a little bit ahead of its time. We had a great time doing it. I don’t know what else to say. I talked about the show so much. I prefer to talk about ‘Relative Stranger.’”

In a bizarre little newsflash, Michael Ausiello (in his first EW column) has revealed that Julia Louis Dreyfuss and Wanda Sykes are going to get married on The New Adventures of Old Christine. It’s a timely plot twist given the new California marriage rights.

I’m not sure if this is enough to actually make me watch the show, considering it sounds like the set-up for a screwball comedy with a flamboyant wedding planner and a bunch of elevator baby plot twists* (wacky misunderstandings, strange love triangles).

It’s also ambiguous as to whether this is actually going to be a real outing/gay wedding or some bizarre charade. Eh, I’ll wait to read about it.

In other news, re: the picture to the right, if she were a real lesbian those would be burned vegan brownies. Just pointing it out for accuracy’s sake.
