You Decide: Best supporting actress in a comedy
As I’ve made clear, the well of blog post ideas has been running dry for some time now. So, let’s get some mileage out of the glowing magical television box awards. That is to say, let’s talk Emmys.
To begin things on a controversial note, let’s start with best supporting actress in a comedy. First of all, I can’t believe Jenna Fisher wasn’t nominated this year. I suppose she didn’t have as many bright, shining moments as last season (remember the smile she had at the end of season three before she asked “I’m sorry, what was the question?” — God, I’m a sucker), but I still can’t believe that anyone from Two and a Half Fucking Men was nominated for anything.
Seriously? The fact that Two and a Half Men has inexplicably continued to thrive is just one of the reasons why I have turned my back on religion.
In any case — heresy aside — let’s look at our lucky thespians. Personally, I am fully invested in Kristin Chenoweth as Olive Snook in Pushing Daisies. I do love Amy Poehler, don’t get me wrong. She is one of the most reliable SNL cast members in recent memory, but Chenowith just steals every single scene she’s in. And, if you needed to be reminded, there was this scene.
But decide for yourself. I tend to think that everyone agrees with me, even though I may be way off base. Although, in this instance, I really, really, really don’t think I am. Vote below.
