Fifteen years ago today, I became a man. Today is the anniversary of my Bar Mitzvah. As far as I know, this isn’t something Jews normally recognize — I just happened to notice it.
On October 16, 1993, I got up on the bimma and read my Torah portion (the story of Noah) — then collected my cash and prizes at the reception, which had an outer space theme.
