Cancellation sensation

Back to writing that script for Pump Up The Volume Two.

Back to writing that script for Pump Up The Volume Two.

Which of the following four shows has been cancelled?

  • Lipstick Jungle
  • My Own Worst Enemy
  • Mad TV
  • Pushing Daisies

The answer?  All of ‘em.  Well, actually, it’s: yes, yes, yes and probably.

While NBC axed Lipstick Jungle and My Own Worst Enemy yesterday (and John reported about Mad TV this morning — so that was a freebie), Pushing Daisies looks like its no long for this world.

I can’t say I ever considered watching Lipstick Jungle and Mad TV has always been the shrill stepsister of SNL, but My Own Worst Enemy was decent enough (and one of the only salvageable shows of the new season).

The real tragedy, though, is the likely demise of Pushing Daisies. Some may not care for its ultra-sweet cutesiness, but it’s much more inspired and imaginative than pretty much anything else on network television. This is where, I half-heartedly beg you to watch Pushing Daisies, but know that if you don’t already, you probably won’t start.

I know, it’s depressing. But sometimes the world is cruel and we’re left trying to make sense out of the shards of disappointment we have in our hands.

Here’s a link to a buy one appetizer, get one free coupon for TGIFridays. It’s not much, but it’ll have to do.

I only started watching Pushing Daisies a couple weeks ago – if I can do it, other people can, too!

    Except they probably won’t.

I’m so bummed out – with both Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone being axed, where am I going to get my fix of sweet, fantasy-based stories? :*( These shows really were escapism for me.
