If I were a real TV blogger, I would have watched the upfronts coverage with the same zeal that I watch Jake Gyllenhaal’s house through binoculars (on my Star Map). BTW, Jake, you should have that mole looked at.
Luckily, Michael Ausiello has compiled a handy cheat sheet telling us which shows have gotten the final kiss of death and which have been saved the axe. Take a look here.
There’s good news and there’s bad news — just like every season. If you’re like me, then you always want to hear the bad news first, so here goes:
Samantha Who? got cancelled, despite the fact that it was actually a really cute show and Christina Applegate is quickly becoming America’s-sweetheart-who-we-sometimes-forget-exists. The Sarah Conner Chronicles has also been cancelled. I didn’t stick with it, although some folks I know rave. On the other hand Scrubs will continue despite being way past its prime (let it die in peace).
The good news?
Chuck got picked up for 13 episodes, as did Dollhouse (which should be very pleasing to the whole Whedon cult). Also, Better Off Ted has gotten a stay of execution (I really can’t imagine that it’s going to take off, but there’s always hope).
