Well, it doesn't reflect particularly well on the NBA, either.

I have watched "Write the Future" a dozen times this week. I am incapable of stopping. I just love the yodeling in the middle!

Maybe if the World Cup was presented to Americans like that episode of The Simpsons when Ken Griffey Jr. and all those other baseball players were the Shelbyville ringers...

I'm kidding. I think a lot of Americans are very excited about the World Cup. It's a lazy media trope that Americans don't get soccer; MLS games had higher average attendance the first month of this season than NBA and NHL games. And that's MLS, which does not, how shall we say, feature the world's greatest players.

I watched "Write the Future" three times today and I love it. Does Homer Simpson appeal to Americans more than soccer?

In high school we used to do a drill in pairs where we tried to nutmeg our partner. When we were successful our coach told us to yell out "nutmeg!" So naturally when I did the same thing in a game, I automatically yelled out "nutmeg!" and was promptly given a yellow card. Needless to say, we never did that drill again.
