Listen, I don’t ask much of you.

All I need you to do is watch the following video — the newest Brenda Dickson parody. I’m not sure if it’s new, but it’s new to me. (For the uninitiated — see the original here.)

So, in addition to the webisodes (I hate how they’ve made that a word that I use) for The Office, NBC has thrown us a bone and given us little baby snippets for Heroes!

Not too give too much away, but this clip doesn’t feature anyone we’ve seen before. We just meet a new character and a couple new villains and watch them face off. Really, it just seems like a super-short episode of Heroes with worse special effects and acting. The sound and music makes you realize that it’s the same show.

I’ve known about this site for a while now, but I’m just getting to post about it now because you guys have to see one of these clips.

Let me back up.

There’s this French Web site called (of course) La Blogotheque. They make little films out of performances by various indie musicians (filmed in locations around the world). They’ve got Jose Gonzalez, The Big Sleep, Hutch and Kathy from The Thermals, Bon Iver, R.E.M., etc. In short, a pretty strong guest list. With each performance, they put the artist in a sort of unique location and incorporate some sort of interesting art film-y angle to the video.

To provide you with an example, here’s a video of Wet and Rustling by the band Menomena. You guys, you have to watch it because about halfway through it gets to be the cutest god damned thing I’ve ever seen in my life. And, you know, the song is good too.

Monday morning, eh? It’s rough. I know, I should’ve just gone to bed earlier too.

Well, if you’re checking this Monday morning, you’re probably hoping you can get a little mental escape for a bit. Actually, if you’re checking it at all you probably are avoiding doing something.

As such, here’s a kind of funny sketch called “The Underminer.” It’s from The YouTube. According to the creator, Michael Albo, it is based on “someone you let into your life a long time ago who knows everything about you and knows how to dismantle your psychology—but it’s too late to split off from him or her.”

It’s Monday, I figured I’d ease you kids into the work week with a collection of crappy, campy, musical scenes from 80s movies. So I present to you fake E.T. dancing in a bearsuit, the lead singer of Rilo Kiley tossing her cookies, the red haired chick that briefly dated Jason Priestly, and Tim Curry desperate for money. As a bonus, I added lyrics where I could.

Warning: These videos may cause gynecomastia in men.

If I weren’t already full of shame on a daily basis, I suppose this pretty funny clip would help me along my way.
